Dr. Friedrich Seitz, President, Innovation Division and European Site and Verbund Management, BASF
"The research unit I was heading was quite successful in “standard” innovation projects. What was missing were enough out of the box ideas. To get there I needed to raise the level of creativity in my team. It soon became clear that this would become a major change project, focused on changing the culture of the entire unit.
It was also clear that I would need support from a consultancy to achieve my goals. My colleagues and I were talking to several consultants and we finally chose Shiloh Advisors. They could demonstrate their competency and experience in this field by previous projects, they really understood the challenge we were facing and the change we needed and foremost, they were able and willing to tailor their approach to our specific needs.
The result was a holistic concept, which covered all aspects of creativity and innovation – people, processes, organizational set-up and tools. It contains a lot of new, creative elements. We were so happy with the performance of Shiloh Advisors that we also chose them for the implementation of the concept.
Most impressive was the personal commitment of the Shiloh team. They left no doubt that it was also “their” project. No wonder that it turned out to be a successful project, where we could harvest the first fruits already early in the implementation phase."

André Goig, Global Head of Syngenta Vegetables, Syngenta
"In August 2007 Syngenta acquired an Israeli seeds company, Zeraim Gedera, which was then integrated into Syngenta Vegetables. After completing Phase I of the post-merger integration process, Syngenta contracted the services of Shiloh Advisors. The objective of the project was to support the integration implementation during Phase II (February to September 2008).
The main focus areas of the project were: change management, processes harmonization, organizational structure redesign, implementation plan definition, workshop facilitation, involvement in preparation of Steering Group meetings and communication activities.
The main reason we selected Shiloh Advisors was their experience consulting large multinational companies, and their cross-cultural background. The Israeli background of Dr. Shula Hadi – Principal – was an added benefit.
It became apparent during Phase I of the integration, before Shiloh Advisors’ involvement, that some existing cultural gaps made it difficult to get the management of Syngenta and Zeraim Gedera fully aligned. Therefore, it was important for Syngenta to have a third party, fluent in the local language and customs, helping to avoid any gaps in understanding and interpretation of statements while being aware of the cultural differences.
Thanks to the background and experience of Shiloh Advisors, we could overcome remaining gaps and were able to successfully agree on and implement the integration strategy across functions and geographies. In some instances Dr. Shula Hadi could act as a neutral pole between the two parties, as well as a personal coach, overcoming any issues that arose during the integration.
With the high engagement and personal involvement of the consulting team, we made significant progress in our integration process, while maintaining the strong sales growth of Zeraim Gedera.
As chairman of the Integration Steering Group and Global Head of Syngenta Vegetables, I would like to thank Shiloh Advisors for their work."

Franz Hero, Vice President, Industry BU Chemicals, SAP
Dr. Thorsten Wenzel, Director Solution Management, Industry BU Chemicals, SAP

"Enterprise Performance Management is a key focus area in the Chemical Industry. Active portfolio management based on customer and product profitability has become more important and crucial than “pure” cost cutting programs. Therefore, SAP AG is investing heavily in this area with a strong focus on Chemicals.
In order to provide a first pilot tool measuring customer and product profitability in the Chemical Industry and to enable the Business User at all Divisions / hierarchical levels to actively manage the portfolios, we, from the Industry Business Unit Chemicals at SAP AG, have been looking for a suitable Strategy Consulting Partner to define the basic requirements of the Chemical Industry regarding the tool’s content, typical KPIs and structure for managing profitable customer and product portfolio.
We found this Partner in Shiloh Advisors. We have been impressed by Shiloh Advisors’ deep industry knowledge, experience and expertise especially in the area of profitability optimization for Chemicals. The deliverables defined for the joint project included a storyboard, industry-specific portfolio analysis methods, KPIs definitions and value ranges, as well as potential User Interfaces (UI`s) for a software pilot. Based on the project’s results a software pilot was developed and presented to customers during SAPPHIRE 2008 in Berlin with overwhelming customer feedback.
We from the IBU Chemicals at SAP AG are extremely satisfied with the cooperation with Shiloh Advisors and would be very much interested in further collaboration on this topic."
